For many business phone calls, it is important that several employees are able to participate at the same time. For example, when a company is awarding a contract for a large project, in many cases, several employees would be involved in the preparations. While the majority of the planning may take place during face to face meetings, further discussions, such as discussions of minor details or progress updates, may be conducted over the phone. A conference phone is usually placed in the middle of the room in which the conference call participants are located. It has several loudspeakers, transmitting the voices of those at the other end of the phone line in all directions, so that all participants understand them well. The Polycom SoundStation is a conference phone for medium-sized rooms. The Polycom HD Voice technology ensures that all voices are captured and reproduced in very high quality. Callers are just as easy to understand as if they were physically present in the room.

The Polycom SoundStation is available in three versions. The SoundStation IP 5000 is suitable for conference calls with smaller groups, IP 6000 is suitable for a larger number of participants and IP 7000 offers the highest quality for discussions at the top management level. All models are easily connected to the Internet with Ethernet cables and because they use Power over Ethernet (PoE), a separate power supply is not required.
